Protect Your Livelihood as a Structural Pest Management or Nuisance Wildlife Operator

Recently, municipalities in Ontario have been superseding Provincial and Federal Law regarding structural pest management and nuisance wildlife practices and compliance laws. At present, Pickering and Vaughan have passed municipal by laws in relation to rodent control and wildlife control that are in contradiction to the Provincial Pesticides Act and Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, as well as the Federal Pest Control Products Act.
The costs associated with these by laws will directly go back to the client or residents of those municipalities. This additional cost may lead to negative impacts on the small business community and the marginalized citizens of Ontario.
We the undersigned petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows: by signing indicates support for pre-emption meaning that Municipal by laws for the Structural Pest Management and Nuisance Wildlife Industry in Ontario do not supersede Provincial Law.
Sign the petition now and share with your colleagues, family and friends.

Implement Continued Education Credits for the Ontario Structural Pest Management Industry

The current process for Structural Pesticide Licensing in Ontario is fee based. The Structural Pest Management Association of Ontario (SPMAO) requests the implementation of Continued Education Credits (CEC’s) for the structural pest management industry. CEC’s in Ontario will strengthen the structural pest management industry and provide ongoing professionalism to stay current with best practices and techniques.
Ontario is a leader in the field of structural pest management however, it is one of the last remaining provinces to implement CEC’s. This will increase government revenue and provide opportunities for industry growth at the same time providing safe practices for the people, pets and the environment of Ontario. SPMAO requests for the action of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to adjust provincial standards to include CEC’s.
We petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to support CEC implementation for the Structural Pest Management Industry in Ontario.
Kindly sign the petition to support this much-needed change.
