Implement Continued Education Credits for the Ontario Structural Pest Management IndustryThe current process for Structural Pesticide Licensing in Ontario is fee based. The Structural Pest Management Association of Ontario (SPMAO) requests the implementation of Continued Education Credits (CEC’s) for the structural pest management industry. CEC’s in Ontario will strengthen the structural pest management industry and provide ongoing professionalism to stay current with best practices and techniques. Ontario is a leader in the field of structural pest management however, it is one of the last remaining provinces to implement CEC’s. This will increase government revenue and provide opportunities for industry growth at the same time providing safe practices for the people, pets and the environment of Ontario. SPMAO requests for the action of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to adjust provincial standards to include CEC’s. We petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to support CEC implementation for the Structural Pest Management Industry in Ontario. SPMAO After 5pm SocialsIn 2024 SPMAO organized three monthly “after 5pm” work socials, where current and considering members would gather together at a restaurant in various areas to learn about the organization and network with each other. The purpose of these meet and greets are to provide an opportunity to connect, learn and have fun in a social environment. 2024 SPMAO Golf Tournament Recap: The scramble tournament included breakfast, lunch and a drink ticket with registration. Special prize holes and a 50-50 draw were also featured. It was a great day, reconnecting with old friends and meeting other SPMAO members. We were very pleased with the turnout of 62 Golfers and 7 Sponsors, but we believe we can make it even bigger and better by providing you more notice. Reminder, this event is not just for SPMAO members. Feel free to bring your Family or Friends to enjoy the day!
